Frequently asked questions
When does a new case appear?
At midnight in your own time zone. One case a day, every day.
Can I play yesterday's case?
Not on the website — each case is available on its day only. The app holds all 1000 cases and lets you play them in any order.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no e-mail and no login anywhere on this site.
Is it free?
Yes, completely. The website is free and carries no ads.
Do the cases get harder?
Yes. The collection is built as a ladder, from rookie to fiendish, and the day number tells you where you are on it.
Is guessing ever needed?
Never. Every case has exactly one solution reachable by pure deduction, and that was verified by a solver before publication.
What do ✕ and ✓ mean?
✕ means this pair is impossible. ✓ means this pair is certain. Tap a square repeatedly to cycle between them.
Which languages are available?
English, Turkish, Spanish, French, Portuguese and German. Each was written by hand, not machine translated.
Is this the same as Murdle?
No. Murdle is a separate book series and puzzle site by G. T. Karber. Murder OX is unrelated: different cases, different generator, different people.
