About Murder OX

Murder OX publishes one murder mystery logic puzzle a day. There are 1000 of them in total, which is a little under three years of daily cases.

Every case is generated by a program and then solved by a second program before it is allowed out. That solver works the way a careful person does: it eliminates what the clues forbid and follows the consequences. If it cannot reach the answer without guessing, the case is discarded and another is generated in its place. What you get is a puzzle with exactly one answer and a path to it that never requires luck.

The clue sentences are not machine translated. Each of the six languages has its own set of sentence patterns written by hand, because a logic puzzle falls apart the moment a sentence is ambiguous.
